High School Advancement

High School Advancement Wait LIst

The deadline to enroll in our Advancement Program was 4:00 pm on Friday June 2.

If you would like to add your name to the Wait List for the August 4 PreCalculus/Algebra 2 assessment (if applicable) and/or the desired class for next school year, click here .  Please note that there are no guarantees that we will be able to accommodate your request due to space and class size limitations.

No placements off of the wait list will be made until all of the changes are made for students who met the deadlines and fulfilled all of the requirements. It will be up to each site to determine if space is available in the next level class.  In most cases, this will not happen until after the school year starts.

2017 SRVUSD High School Course Advancement Program

SRVUSD recognizes that some students are interested in advancing in the areas of math, science, world language, and/or college preparatory electives so we have devised a program to help facilitate the process.  Registration for Summer Advancement is a multi -step process as outlined below.  All steps must be completed by the deadlines listed.  Important! SRVUSD accepts only one course per subject area, per school year. (For example, you cannot advance through two math courses in one summer.) Failure to meet any deadline will result in the student being placed on the wait list for the math assessment exam (if applicable) and/or the desired course for 2017-2018. Click here for step-by-step instructions on the Enrollment & Transcript submission process.

THE ENROLLMENT DEADLINE HAS PASSED.  See the box above for the link to be added to the wait list.

THE PROOF OF ENROLLMENT SUBMISSION DEADLINE HAS PASSED. Students who missed the deadline are not guaranteed a spot in the next level class or at the Math assessment exam.  They will be allowed in on a space available basis.

Accelerated Algebra 2 Requirement

Students who take Geometry via the SRVUSD Course Advancement Program are not eligible to take Accelerated Algebra 2. These students will be placed in the SRVUSD Algebra 2 class. Click here for more information.

A note about 8th graders who want to Advance...

8th grade students who are currently enrolled in Accelerated Algebra 1 or Geometry can begin taking courses in the spring of their 8th grade year.

It is important to note that 8th graders who are currently enrolled in California State Standards 8 math CANNOT advance through Biology over the summer as Algebra 1 is a prerequisite for any kind of Chemistry class (college prep or Honors) and they will not have met that requirement. Additionally, Algebra 1 must be taken at an SRVUSD school and cannot be taken via a summer course.

Sixth and Seventh grade students cannot advance via the summer advancement program. If you have questions, please contact the counselor at your student's school.
