Ken Mintz, President
Ken Mintz has lived in the San Ramon Valley since 1983. His 2 children, Nicole and Jacob, both graduated from SRVUSD schools. Ken was appointed to fill a vacancy on the Board of Education in February 2009. He initially served on the Board of Education from 1992-1996, including a year as Board President in 1996. He was also co-Chair of the District’s Bond Feasibility Committee in 1997 as well as chairman of the District’s Facilities Advisory and Oversight Committee from 1998-2002. In addition to his role with local schools, Ken has served on the City of San Ramon’s Parks and Community Services Commission as well as the boards of the San Ramon and Walnut Creek Chambers of Commerce, the Contra Costa Council, the Tri-Valley Business Council, and the Museum of the San Ramon Valley plus a number of nonprofit leadership and advisory boards. He has also been actively involved as a scout leader and youth sports coach.
Ken graduated from Georgetown University in Washington DC with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1978 and received an MBA from the University of Texas, Austin in 1980. He also graduated from the Leadership Contra Costa and Leadership San Francisco programs.
Ken has worked for ATT since 1980. As ATT’s External Affairs Area Manager in Contra Costa County and the Tri-Valley, Ken has responsibility within the local community for ATT’s public policy initiatives, community/government relations and philanthropic activities. He also performed this role in San Francisco from 2003-2008. Ken has a background in systems management, process development and software quality assurance prior to his work in external affairs.
