SRVUSD Math Program

In 2009 – 2010 the San Ramon Valley Unified School District adopted math programs in grades K-5 and 6-8. Our teachers have attended professional development activities that have focused on topics including differentiating instruction, intervention, enrichment, technology integration, universal access, and school-to-home connection.

In grades K-5 our teachers are implementing the Scott Foresman enVision Math Program. Teachers have attended district and school-based training, in which they had time to be trained on the program and begin collaborating with their colleagues. In grades 6-8 the grade-level program is using the McDougal-Littell California Math series. The advanced program is using the McDougal-Littell Structure Method series.

Additional training opportunities will be scheduled throughout the year, based upon needs identified by teachers.  All of these opportunities will be posted on this web site.

Khan Academy

You're probably aware of Khan Academy on iTunes-U, with their thousands of free math lessons that can be accessed from anywhere, and for FREE! There is another great feature of Khan Academy, called Khan Instant. All you need to do is....

1. Type the concept you're teaching

2. Choose the option that best fits your needs

3. Play the video for your class

Kids can also use this for a 'at home' resource, or as a study/review guide throughout the year.  For example....if you type 'fractions' into the search bar, you'll get these results:  Converting fractions to decimals, Equivalent fractions, Mixed numbers and improper fractions, many many more as well.
