SRVUSD is initiating a process of regular negotiations updates after bargaining sessions with SRVEA, CSEA and SEIU. Information and updates on negotiations for all three bargaining units will be sent out to all District staff and our school community, and will also be located on our website:


It is our sincere desire to ensure that all bargaining team negotiations are conducted efficiently and effectively. Out of respect for everything else that we are all doing to support students during this challenging school year, we believe that a collaborative negotiations process that leads to a mutually agreeable settlement as quickly as possible is in the best interests of everyone involved. 


Yesterday, Monday, October 25, 2021, District staff and members of the San Ramon Valley Education Association (SRVEA) bargaining team met as part of the negotiations process. SRVEA represents teachers, teacher librarians, social workers, psychologists, speech language pathologists, counselors, nurses and all non-management certificated educators in the SRVUSD.


Here is a summary of some of the topics that were discussed during the 10/25 meeting:

  • The SRVUSD team reemphasized that settling total compensation (including but not limited to salary and benefits) is the top priority for the 2021-22 negotiations process. Prioritizing compensation allows the District to acknowledge the expertise of educators and staff, and to attract and retain the best talent in the region.

  • The SRVEA team shared the basis for their proposal for compensation with the District’s bargaining team. 

  • Although a counter proposal was not provided, the District communicated that it would be consulting with the Board of Education at its next closed session meeting on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 in preparation for subsequent bargaining sessions. 

  • The next regularly scheduled meeting for the bargaining teams was set for November 5th; however, the groups agreed to meet earlier, on Thursday, October 28th. We appreciate the flexibility of the teams.

  • The parties came to tentative agreement on an Addendum to the Memorandum of Understanding for instruction for students under quarantine during the 2021-22 school year.
